Patrik Sylvegård, team manager of the Malmö Redhawks, confirmed to Expressen's Kvällsposten that Leland Irving is leaving the team with immediate effect. He did, however, not disclose what Irving's next steps will be.
According to the same source, Irving's deal with HC Lugano will become official on Friday. He might even already play for the club. The Corriere del Ticino reported yesterday that Irving would serve as an injury replacement for Niklas Schlegel who is out for six weeks due to a thigh injury.
