A member of HC Fribourg-Gottéron since 2019, the Canadian forward will stay with the Dragons for a fourth consecutive season.

After the extension with veteran import-defenseman Ryan Gunderson, HC Fribourg-Gottéron has found in David Desharnais their second foreigner for the 2022-23 season. The other two imports currently under contract in this season are forwards Daniel Brodin and Chris DiDomenico.

So far in 16 games with the Dragons, Desharnais has scored six goals and collected as many assists while averaging 19:09 minutes on the ice per game. Moreover, Desharnais has won 57.3% of the faceoffs he took, the seventh-highest win percentage of the National League.
