EVZ's team manager tells the Luzerner Zeitung that although Herzog is a repeated offender, the accusations are excessive in his opinion.

"I think a game suspension should be the maximum penalty," comments Reto Kläy on Fabrice Herzog's crosscheck against HCFG's Mauro Dufner. By Wednesday, Kläy will submit a written statement to the single judge to explain his point of view. The length of the final suspension inflicted on the forward will be decided on Thursday.

EV Zug's head coach Dan Tangnes also sees no intention behind the check to injure the opponent: "He made mistakes earlier and has been penalized for it. It is unfair to treat him like a criminal because of the foul on Dufner".

For Herzog, these are already the eighth proceedings in the last seven years. Most recently, he had to serve an eight-game suspension for a check to the head of SC Bern's Eric Blum, who has not played ever since.
