"Luca will finish the season with us," Petr Svoboda tells 24 heures. Rumors about the goaltender leaving first surfaced when La Regione reported that Ivars Punnenovs would move to Lausanne and that Luca Boltshauser was looking for a new team despite a valid contract.
The netminder did, however, deny the allegations, telling 24 heures that he never stated that he wanted to leave. He did admit, though, that if Punnenovs indeed would sign with Lausanne HC, he would have to look for a solution.
While it is now clear that the Latvian goaltender is indeed leaving the SCL Tigers, it is not sure that he will move to Lausanne yet. Still, on Friday, there were rumblings that a trade between the Tigers and LHC was in the works. That seems now, at least according to Svoboda, no longer to be an option.
