In an interview with the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Bobby Ryan reveals that the Biancoblù offered him a contract at least until the Olympic break at the end of January, which he had to decline.

"I was honored by the offer. And I'm also sure that I still have a lot good hockey in me," the winger explains. "But I can't do this, I can't leave my family alone for six weeks. I'm at a point in my life where it is more important to me that I can pick up my kids from school."

The Anaheim Ducks' 2005 NHL Draft first-round pick (2nd overall) and current Free Agent last played in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings in the 2020-21 season. Overall, he suited up in 917 NHL games for Anaheim, Ottawa, and Detroit, recording 279 goals and 322 assists.
