As was already reported earlier today, the forward will stay in Switzerland after the birth of his child. His old club has now announced his return.

Still having a valid contract with EV Zug until 2023, Grégory Hofmann is now again part of his old team. He was recently suspended by the Columbus Blue Jackets after returning to Switzerland for the birth of his child and deciding to stay here due to family reasons.

In his 24 NHL games, Hofmann recorded two goals and five assists with an average ice time of twelve and a half minutes.

With the return of the 29-year-old, Zug is no longer able to dress five import players per game, as this was allowed due to the forward's departure to the NHL while still having an ongoing contract in the National League.

Once all formalities with the NHL and the Blue Jackets are settled, Hofmann will be eligible to suit up in Switzerland once more.
