The Austrian forward will stay with the Ticinese team for another year. His deal would have expired this summer.

HC Lugano

In January, Raphael Herburger told the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung that he will stay in Switzerland and already has a deal for the coming season, but did not mention the involved team. As HC Lugano now has announced, the 33-year-old will remain with them.

Since joining the Bianconeri in 2020 from EC Red Bull Salzburg, Herburger has made 89 games for them, recording 14 goals and 24 assists. It is currently his second stint in the National League, he used to play for EHC Biel from 2013 to 2016.

"Raphael adapted well to the environment of the Hockey Club Lugano and to our League and for this reason, we are happy to count on him also for the coming season", team manager Hnat Domenichelli comments.
