As Vaclav Varada tells Blick, he was in contact with Lausanne HC and even had an appointment with them "but then it could not happen and the path went cold," the 46-year-old says.
Nevertheless, the former player of HC Davos and the SCL Tigers would like to return to Switzerland as a coach. The KHL is no longer an option for him due to the war in Ukraine: "As soon as the geopolitical situation changed, I ruled out this possibility. For me, it was inconceivable."
In Switzerland, however, only HC Ajoie is currently without a coach – and maybe EHC Kloten, as Jeff Tomlinson is forced to take a step back due to health reasons.
