The Finnish NHL goalie's contract is running out. He appears to be headed to the National League as his next station.

Mikko Koskinen has been a member of the Edmonton Oilers since 2018. This summer, The 33-year-old will become a free agent. As Waton's Klaus Zaugg knows from his sources, the Finn will likely move to Switzerland and play for HC Lugano coming season.

The best save percentage the netminder has posted during his second stint in the NHL - he was part of the New York Islanders' organization from 2009 to 2012 - was a .917 in the 2019-20 season. Other than that, he finished the regular seasons with a .906 (2018-19), a .899 (2020-21), and this last one with a .903.

In between his two NHL adventures, Koskinen played in his home country (KalPa and the Espoo Blues) as well as in the KHL (Sibir Novosibirsk and SKA St. Petersburg).
