A person of interest in the two last summers, with rumors that Swiss clubs were interested in acquiring him, Peter Cehlárik might finally play in Switzerland as of the upcoming championship. In 2020 Cehlárik had chosen to play for Leksands IF, while last summer he signed a one-year deal with Avangard Omsk.

Cehlárik would be the sixth foreigner under contract in Zug. The others are the defensemen Christian Djoos and Niklas Hansson, and the forwards Carl Klingberg, Jan Kovar, and the new acquisition Brian O'Neill.

Last season, Peter Cehlárik played for Avangard Omsk in the KHL (37 points in 52 games) and also participated in the Olympic tournament, winning a bronze medal.
