With Michael Spacek, HC Ambrì-Piotta has engaged their second Czech import, the other one being Filip Chlapík. Spacek last played for Frölunda, where he finished the season as their second-best scorer (50 points in 57 games). There would still have been a year left on his contract with the SHL-club, but it was terminated early in mutual agreement.

The now 25-year-old started his career with HC Pardubice. In 2015, he was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the fourth round of the NHL Entry Draft. The same summer, he joined the WHL's Red Deer Rebels. During his second season overseas, Spacek made his first appearances in the AHL for the Manitoba Moose.

In 2020, the forward returned to Europe, first suiting up for Tappara Tampere, then HC Oceláři Třinec, and finally Frölunda, before now joining the Biancoblù.
