Bennett played in the AHL for the past two seasons, suiting up for the Stockton Heat and the Iowa Wild. Last season, he did, however, mainly suit up for the Wild's ECHL affiliate, the Iowa Heartlanders, recording 35 goals and 38 assists in 50 regular-season games.
