The 20-year-old forward technically had a two-year contract with Lausanne HC in place and was supposed to join the team for this season.

As reported earlier by Grégory Beaud (Blick), Théo Rochette will return to Canada instead. He was going to miss the start of the National League season anyway, as he was invited to the Philadelphia Flyers' camp. He will now not play in Switzerland at all.

According to the Remparts, Lausanne HC and Rochette came to an agreement that it would be best for his development to play a last season with the Remparts. The forward suited up in 66 regular-season games for the QMJHL team last season, recording 33 goals and 66 assists.
