The official announcement that Alexandre Texier will take one-year break from the NHL and play in Switzerland should arrive soon, Portzline reports. The final year of Texier's contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets would slide and still be valid if he would choose to return to the NHL for the 2023-24 season. According to Blick, Texier will play for the ZSC Lions, which will now have seven imports under contract.

Texier, 22, can play both at the center and as a winger. Texier spent the last three seasons with the Blue Jackets, scoring 21 goals and putting up 31 assists in 131 games.
