Whereas Brunner will stay in Biel at least until 2024, Schläpfer has signed a contract valid until 2025.

Even though the 2022-23 championship has not begun yet, EHC Biel is already planning the roster for the next seasons. Damien Brunner and Elvis Schläpfer, whose contracts would have expired next spring, will thus stay with the Seeländer.

For Brunner, 36, it will be the sixth season with EHC Biel, having joined them in 2018 from HC Lugano. Brunner will be 38 at the end of this new contract. Despite his growing age, however, Brunner has proven to still be one of the best scorers in the league with 22 goals in the past season.

As for Schläpfer, the 21-year-old forward has been part of EHC Biel's organization since 2016 when he moved from Basel. Last season, Schläpfer found a regular spot in the lineup but also played some games for SC Langenthal, the team for which his father work as team manager.
