The 20-year-old forward, who was drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2021, has signed an early extension that will keep him in Davos until 2026.

Arrived in Davos on loan from the Portland Winterhawks during the 2020-21 season, Simon Knak then definitely joined HC Davos with a contract valid until the end of the 2022-23 season. Jan Alston, team manager of HC Davos, is happy that Knak decided to stay in Davos even further: "Simon can become one of the best Swiss power forwards".

"Simon is only 20 years old and can already play an important role in our team. He has a tremendous willingness to perform on and off the ice, understands how to apply offensive pressure and yet not neglect his defensive duties, and can already read the game excellently - all this shows his great potential" continues Alston.

So far in this season, Knak suited seven times for HC Davos, scoring one goal and collecting three assists. Moreover, he recorded two assists in five outings in the Champions Hockey League. Last season, he put up 15 points in 51 games. With the Swiss national team, Knak participated in one U18 World Championship and in three editions of the World Juniors.
