A few days after bidding farewell to Alexandre Grenier, the SCL Tigers welcome a new import player: Cody Eakin will play for them until the end of the season. Eakin played for the Buffalo Sabres last season, while most recently he was in a try-out with the Calgary Flames, which, however, did not offer him a contract.

"Cody Eakin brings a tremendous amount of experience to the team with his exemplary attitude. He is known for a combative style of play and will strengthen us with his faceoff and skating qualities in the power and box play, among other things," comments Pascal Müller, team manager of the Tigers.

In eleven seasons in the NHL, Eakin suited up 751 times, mainly with the Dallas Stars, scoring 118 goals and collecting 157 assists. Last season, the forward recorded twelve points in 69 outings with the Sabres.
