Genève-Servette HC will only be playing in Les Vernets until 2028, but the arena will be renovated nonetheless. "These improvements have been designed for use after the departure of the GSHC", the city's mayor, Marie Barbey-Chappuis, is quoted by the Tribune de Genève.

There are three stages of work planned. First, the ice production system will be overhauled, lowering the amount of ammonia needed substantially. Second, solar panels will be installed on the roof of the outdoor rink, which will produce about 13% of the future needs of the venue and make it the largest city-owned photovoltaic plant. Third, the VIP area will be expanded and certain spaces will be changed, especially the locker rooms.

Works will start in the second half of 2023. The process should not interrupt GSHC's season.
