After a long career with mostly JYP Jyväskylä, Juha-Pekka Hytönen made his last game on January 7 of 2022, signed to a one-day contract specifically for his retirement game. He had been working as an assistant coach for JYP's U20 since 2021. Now, the Finn has agreed to join HC Ajoie as head coach of their U20.
Hytönen, who also is part of Finland's U18 national team coaching staff, already has gathered some experience in Switzerland before, albeit as a player. From 2013 to 2016, during one of his few non-JYP-stints, he suited up for Lausanne HC.
