According to Klaus Zaugg (Watson), SC Bern is interested in Jussi Olkinuora, who had signed with EHC Biel last season, but left to join the Detroit Red Wings before the start of the season. He ended the season with Brynäs IF.
If they were to sign him, they would have to decide what to do with Daniel Manzato, though. His name has come up in connection with EHC Visp, but apparently, due to family reasons, he would not like to play the entire season there. According to Zaugg, team manager Andrew Ebbett would be willing to loan him to them.
Ebbett is, however, not only busy trying to find another goaltender for the upcoming season. He is also looking for a new head coach. According to Klaus Zaugg, former Brynäs IF coach Mikko Manner is no longer on their list. SC Bern would, however, be interested in Tommi Niemelä.
