The 25-year-old forward is dependent on the regular intake of medication. The meds are usually not allowed in hockey. The club did not hand in the form to apply for exemption from the rule in time due to "delays and misunderstandings."

Aleksi Peltonen has to take medication in order to manage his diabetes. However, the intake of those meds has to be approved by Swiss Sport Integrity with a valid exceptional therapeutic use permit.

As the club did not hand in those forms in time, Peltonen has now been provisionally suspended, as "the delay could potentially be an administrative violation of the anti-doping rules." Peltonen and HC Davos will thus now have to wait until Swiss Sport Integrity has reached a decision in his case.
