The netminder would like to stay, and Christian Dubé would be very open to keeping him.

With the start to the season having gone quite well, both Reto Berra and HC Fribourg-Gottéron are happy with each other at the moment. As the netminder's contract is running out in spring, the two parties will start talks about an extension this week, La Liberté writes.

"I would be a fool not to want to continue with a top goalie if he's healthy", team manager Christian Dubé notes. He also states that it will be either Berra or an import goalie for Fribourg next season. "The other Swiss on the market have not proved anything yet."

Berra, for his part, likes the Dragons and would like to stick around. There might be differences regarding contract length, however. "Just as any human being, I like security", the netminder, who will turn 37 in January, states. "A one-year contract is short. No sooner has the season started and you already are back in the thick of things. Two years would be better. Or even longer. After all, Genoni has signed for three more seasons with Zug. But let us talk first and then find a solution."
