The ZSC Lions had to announce a loss of CHF 2.325 million for the 2015-16 season at their general assembly. The reasons, according to the Tages-Anzeiger, mostly lie in their underperformance on the sportive side of things.

The Lions sold the most season tickets in club history (7776) and 9818 fans were on average in attendance per game at the Hallenstadion last year - also a record. However, this was not enough to balance out the loss in revenue that was caused by the early exit the Lions suffered at the hands of SC Bern in the postseason.

As for details, the costs for personnel were decreased from CHF 14.6 to 13.8 million. But the early out of the playoffs - as well as bonuses from sponsors which were not activated due to their underperformance - led to a decrease in revenue from CHF 20.72 to 18.12 million. The total loss of CHF 2.325 million was covered by equity, which is now at CHF 8.38 million.
