The Expressen wrote in January that Tömmernes would leave Sweden at the end of this season and continue his career abroad. HC Lugano's team manager Roland Habisreutinger has reportedly already started discussions with the Swede. However, according to Ticinonews, another team has also cast an eye on the 26-year-old Swede: HC Sochi of the KHL.
Tömmernes, who has been playing for Frölunda since the beginning of the 2015-16 season, has appeared in 41 SHL games for them this season, putting up 33 points (six goals, 27 assists).
