For Sopanen, the KHL seems not to be the perfect solution as his family is not happy with the long road trips. Therefore, it might be possible that he ends up in Switzerland. As the newspaper reports, two Swiss clubs are interested in signing the Finn. However, it is not yet clear which teams would like to acquire the forward.

Sopanen currently plays for the Lahden Pelicans in the Liiga. This season thus far, the 29-year-old scored 41 points in 33 games (20 goals and 21 assists).
