According to Viglezio, HC Lugano exercised their option already a few weeks ago. Maxim Lapierre will thus definitely be a Bianconero for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

After being released from his professional tryout contract (PTO) with the New York Rangers, the 32-year-old Canadian center had rejoined Lugano at the beginning of October last year.

In a total of 38 games for them since then, Lapierre was able to record ten goals and 13 assists for 23 points.
