The 35-year-old forward joins SC Bern from Oulun Kärpät in the Finnish Liiga, where he has made use of an out-clause to join the Bears. Beside Andrew Ebbett, Mark Arcobello, and Maxim Noreau, he is the fourth import player SCB has signed for the upcoming season.

As team manager Alex Chatelain would like to start the new season with five imports, only one spot remains to be filled. Ryan Lasch, on the other hand, will definitely leave the Bears in direction of Frölunda, as the Swedish club confirmed. He has signed a three-year contract.

Pyörälä, who would have had a valid contract with Kärpät until 2019, appeared in a total of 62 games last season, in which the Liiga's MVP managed to put up 56 points (26 goals and 30 assists).
