In total, six players will not return to the ZSC Lions' squad next season. Whereas it was already known that Ryan Shannon (retired), Morris Trachsler, Dominik Diem (EHC Biel), and Jonas Siegenthaler (returns to the Washington Capitals organisation) will not be back, now it is also clear that the Norwegian forward Patrick Thoresen and the Swedish defenseman David Rundblad won't suit up for the Lions next term. This currently leaves the ZSC Lions with only one import player on their roster: Mattias Sjögren.

With Thoresen, the Lions lose a veritable scorer. In 54 games this season, the 33-year-old put up a total of 49 points (19 goals, 30 assists). David Rundblad, on the other hand, suited up in 55 games, in which he scored eight goals and added 24 assists for 32 points. It is not yet known where they will play in the upcoming season.
