According to RSI, HC Lugano has found a player to fill one of the vacant import-player spots for the upcoming season. Jani Lajunen has supposedly agreed to a two-year contract.

However, Lajunen told La Regione after the first game with the Finnish national team that he talked with the management of HC Lugano but has not yet agreed to terms with the Bianconeri. His focus is on the national team for now.

The 26-year-old forward last played for Finnish team Tappara Tampere. He has been with them since 2015 and won two consecutive Championship title with the Liiga team. Lajunen, who was drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2008, scored 16 goals and 28 assists in 77 games for Tappara this past season.
