As HC Fribourg-Gottéron announces, they have signed Laurent Meunier to a one-year contract. The French forward is now in possession of a Swiss passport and will thus not count against the import-player contingent.

L'Express-L'Impartial had already reported in mid-February that the French international was set to join the NLA team for the upcoming season. Meunier already played in the NLA in the past as he suited up for Genève-Servette HC, Lausanne HC and the Dragons (2008-09) throughout his career.

However, these past two seasons, the 38-year-old forward, who recently played his last game for the French national team, had suited up for HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, scoring 90 points (26 goals) in 88 games for them.
