As Genève-Servette HC announces, they have signed Craig Woodcroft as their new head coach. They have agreed to a three-year deal with the Canadian.

"The choice of Craig is the result of a joint effort between Lorne, Chris, and me," Mike Gillis says. "Craig has proven to be the best choice for our vision of the team and the game. He has a very modern style, it is fast and focused on puck possession."

The Tribune de Genève had already anticipated the 47-year-old signing at the beginning of June; the club had denied the report of the local newspaper then though. Woodcroft coached Dinamo Minsk (KHL) this past season. Prior to that, he had been part of the coaching staff of the Adler Mannheim. He worked as an assistant coach for them until February 2016, when he replaced Greg Ireland as head coach of the team.
