With Reto Berra unexpectedly returning to the NHL, HC Fribourg-Gottéron's team manager Christian Dubé is under great pressure to find a replacement.

Only hours after Fribourg and the rest of the Swiss hockey world learned that Reto Berra will not suit up for the Dragons in the upcoming season, speculations run wild about who will mind HC Fribourg-Gottéron's net in the upcoming season.

As Fribourg already has four import-players on their roster, an import-goaltender is hardly ideal. On the other hand, there are only a few Swiss goaltenders available. La Liberté (relayed by SwissHabs) writes that Christian Dubé has already contacted other teams who might be able to spare one of their goalies. He seems interested in Niklas Schlegel (ZSC Lions, photo), Christophe Bays (Genève-Servette HC) and Joren van Pottelberghe (HC Davos), but rules out Martin Gerber, Daniel Manzato or a return of Benjamin Conz.

Le Matin concurs that Dubé's only option is to contact teams with two strong goaltenders: the ZSC Lions with Lukas Flüeler and Niklas Schlegel, HC Davos with Gilles Senn and Joren van Pottelberghe or Lausanne HC with Cristobal Huet and Sandro Zurkirchen. Whether any of these clubs are willing to let one of their goaltenders go to Fribourg is, of course, an entirely different question.
