Despite the Tampa Bay Lightning's interest in keeping Tanner Richard, the center has decided to join Genève-Servette HC as of next season.

The Grenats have signed the 24-year-old forward to a two-year contract. Richard had already confirmed the signing to the Aargauer Zeitung back in April, at that time his deal had included an NHL out clause and an option for another season.

Richard, who received a qualifying offer from the Bolts in July, mostly played for the Lightning's AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. This past season, he managed to put up 34 points (14 goals and 20 assists) in 47 games for them.
