HC Ambrì-Piotta has found their fourth import player. Center Jeff Taffe joins the team for the upcoming season and signs a one-year contract.

This past term, the 36-year-old American Taffe suited up for HC Slovan Bratislava in the KHL and was the team's top scorer with 18 goals and 25 assists. Prior to that, he played for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, also in the KHL.

Taffe was picked in the first round of the 2000 NHL entry draft (30th overall) by the St. Louis Blues. In a total of 180 NHL games for several teams, he managed to put up 46 points (21 goals and 25 assists). Taffe played most of his career in the AHL where he scratched the ice for more than 700 games. As of the 2014-15 season, Taffe joined Linköping HC in the SHL, his first engagement in Europe.
