According to information from Le Nouvelliste, Praplan's contract includes an NHL out-clause. The 23-year-old will miss the start of the season, as he will be busy playing in the San Jose Sharks' prospect tournament, which will take place from September 5 to September 13. Thus, he will not be able to play in the first three games of the regular season.

The 23-year-old forward has been with EHC Kloten since 2009 and played his first full season for the first team in 2014. Last season, he scored 15 goals and 29 assists in 56 games for them.
