HC Thurgau writes on their website that the players' decision was surprising for the board of directors. However, the club has agreed to his demand and dissolved Studer's contract, which would have been valid until the end of this season.

Studer, 22, joined Thurgau this summer. Prior to that, he was under contract with EHC Winterthur and appeared in six games for them (two assists) last season. In addition, he played 29 games for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers on loan (one goals, three assists).
