Geyer started playing hockey with EHC Chur and was part of the team that got promoted from the NLB to the NLA in 2000. He stayed with Chur for two more years, but joined SCRJ in 2002 and has not left since. For the 2011-2012 season, Geyer served as the team's captain. Now, after 16 seasons with them, he will retire from professional hockey, having won both the Swiss League - and the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup title in the same year. Maybe he will even get to be part of another promotion-winning team again.

The 37-year-old defenseman has played 961 games in the two top leagues in Switzerland, recording 70 goals and 159 assists. He suited up for the Swiss national team 20 times (one goal, two assists) and participated in the 2005 IIHF World Championships. There are still four to seven games for him to play when the Lakers face EHC Kloten in the League Qualification.

On May 1, Geyer will start as head coach of the Mini-level in the club's youth department.
