In January, SCL informed that they have signed Valentin Lüthi to a two-year contract. The 24-year-old, who played for HC Ajoie in the past season, however, has reportedly not passed their medical check. SC Langenthal has thus withdrawn from the contract and is looking for a new defenseman for the upcoming season, desktopstories writes. A report which has yet to be confirmed by the club.

Still according to the same source, an option to replace Lüthi could be Philippe Seydoux. The 33-year-old has not received a new contract from the SCL Tigers and has to find a new team. Apparently, there is no interest from the National League so far. Seydoux played for Langenthal during the 2015-16 season.
