Finding a Swiss goaltender for the upcoming season has proven to be impossible for EHC Kloten, so they had to turn abroad to find a solution. With Bernhard Starkbaum joining them from the EBEL's EC Red Bull Salzburg, Kloten has signed an experienced goalie to mind their net. Before he joined Salzburg two years ago, Starkbaum spent four years in Sweden, where he played for MODO Hockey and Brynäs IF.

In addition to Starkbaum, Kloten also announced that they have signed another two youth players to professional contracts for the upcoming season. 17-year-old forward Julian Mettler has signed a two-year contract and 20-year-old forward Oliver Steiner a one-year deal.
