Guggisberg, 20, is a product of the ZSC Lions' organization. The goaltender played for the Rochester Monarchs and for Angers of the Ligue Magnus last year. He has signed a one-year contract.

Schmutz, too, will stay until the end of the 2018-19 season. The 22-year-old defender did not play for any team in the last two seasons. Uinter Guerra, for his part, suited up for EHC Basel last season (three goals, two assists in 37 games) and will also stay for one year.

Winterthur will also add Jari Allevi, who started last season with HC La Chaux-de-Fonds and ended it in the SPHL, and Orlando Scherz, who played in North America for the past two seasons, to their squad. With that, their roster, except for a single forward position, has been completed.
