Keller took over the CEO position from Thomas Steger in 2016, one year after the club's promotion to Switzerland's second highest league. Under his leadership, the club has grown strongly in economic terms and has been steadily professionalized.

"It will not be easy for me to say goodbye to EHC Winterthur. A lot of heart and soul went into this club. However, time has come to take more time for my family. I am delighted to be able to hand over a well-functioning sports organization at the end of the season," Keller is cited in the media release.

A committee under the leadership of the Board of Directors will take up succession planning effective immediately. The aim is to find a successor to Alexander Keller until April next year at the latest in order to ensure a smooth transition.
