Tonight's home game against EHC Kloten marks the start of a marathon for the GCK Lions. Coach Leo Schumacher is furious.

"You really cannot see this as a Christmas break," GCK's head coach Leo Schumacher says to the Zürichsee-Zeitung. "I find this schedule appalling and an unreasonable imposition." Schumacher criticizes that there are no games in the Swiss League during international breaks, although no player from the league is ever called to the national team.

Schumacher already talked to Willy Vögtlin, who is in charge of the schedules: "He told me that the clubs asked for many games in the festive season." The GCK Lions, however, do not profit from an increased number of spectators in contrast to top clubs with a bigger potential of spectators.
