Because the contracts of Brent Kelly and Jeff Campbell are running out, SC Langenthal are keeping their eyes open for replacements.

EHC Visp's top scorer Mark Van Guilder.

As Langenthal's team manager Marc Eichmann tells the Walliser Bote, Brent Kelly, 37, will return to Canada after this season. Jeff Campbell, 37, on the other hand, has been injured for a long time: "We still have to see how his health develops," Eichmann says. "But his contract is also coming to an end."

Possible replacements might be EHC Visp's American import-players, the 32-year-old Dan Kissel and the 34-year-old Mark Van Guilder. "So far, we've had no contact," Eichmann says to the same source. "But we wouldn't be doing our job properly if we weren't also thinking about the current imports of EHC Visp."

Visp's team manager Bruno Aegerter, on the other hand, can imagine extending the contracts with Kissel and Van Guilder: "We are in discussions and on the right track," he says to the Walliser Bote, but: "In the end we're still EHC Visp. I don't know exactly what the budget will be."

Van Guilder and Kissel currently rank fifth and sixth in the Swiss League's scorer list. Van Guilder has recorded 39 points (14 goals) in 30 games, Kissel is only one point behind him with 38 points (18 goals) in the same number of games.
