The club from the western part of Switzerland will now have to face the EVZ Academy in the quarterfinals. EV Zug's Swiss League farm team defeated EHC Olten 2-1 in shootout to claim the last remaining playoff berth.
For the three bottom placed teams in the standings, the GCK Lions [10], EHC Winterthur [11] and the HCB Ticino Rockets [12], their 2018-19 season has found an early end since there are still no playout games to be played this term.
The puckdrop for Game 1 of the playoff quarterfinals is set to take place on Friday next week, February 22.
