Swiss League

Both head and assistant coach will stay with the Lions for another year.

Another season as the coach: Stephan Mair

Currently fighting to stay alive in the semifinal series against HC La Chaux-de-Fonds (down 1-3, with Game 5 taking place tomorrow), HC Thurgau has a positive announcement to make. Their head coach, Stephan Mair, and his assistant, Beni Winkler, will remain in their positions for at least one more season.

51-year-old Mair has been a part of the Lions since 2016-17. With him behind the bench, they have reached the semifinals of the Swiss League for the first time in 21 years. 42-year-old Winkler moved to the position of assistant one season prior after he had been playing with Thurgau for the last two years of his playing career.
