Swiss League

Out of contract after the current season, the 21-year-old would like to stay in Sierre after their promotion to the Swiss League.

What's next for defenseman Jan Wieszinski?

Jan Wieszinski has played most of the season with the HCB Ticino Rockets but then joined HC Sierre at the beginning of February in order to reinforce the team for the playoffs. Now, his contract in the Ticino and his loan with Sierre has come to an end.

"I would have nothing against staying in Sierre, where I like everything. I like the club, the team, the place... but I'm not the one who decides," Wieszinski says to the Journal du Jura. "One thing is certain: I don't regret coming to Valais!"

For the Rockets, the young defenseman has appeared in 31 games this season (one goal, two assists) before he moved to the Valais. He suited up in eleven playoff games with Sierre, in which he scored one goal.
