Two weeks ago, Söderström thanked the Norwegian club in a tweet stating that "(...) now I move on". Since then, the 41-year-old has been looking for a new challenge, and reportedly only few details are left to be determined prior to taking over as the successor of Chris Bartolone in Olten.

In two years with Storhamar, Söderström won a Norwegian championship and lost a final. Because of his success in Norway, he was elected as the coach of the year at the European Hockey Awards in 2018, for which he has been nominated again this year. Before his Norwegian adventure, Söderström was employed for 18 years as head coach in several Swedish leagues.
