The Danish defenseman Emil Kristensen, 26, joins the EVZ Academy and will also serve as the fifth import-player for EV Zug.

In Zug, Kristensen will replace the Swedish defenseman Pontus Widerström: "With Emil, we have a constant, solid defender in our ranks who perfectly complements the young team," EVZ's team manager Reto Kläy says about his new acquisition. The 26-year-old Dane has signed a one-year contract.

Kristensen joins EV Zug's organization from Finland, where he played for KooKoo Kouvola. In the past two seasons, he appeared in a total of 58 games in the Finnish Liiga, in which he recorded 18 points (seven goals). Over the course of his still young career, he has already suited up for his native country Denmark 136 times (nine goals, 24 assists).
