For about a month, media reports have suggested that the 39-year-old will suit up for HC Sierre next season. Now, it is official: Goran Bezina will leave Genève-Servette HC and join the Valaisans.

According to a report from Le Matin on Thursday, Bezina has "obtained a guarantee" from GSHC that he can return to Geneva after one year and be offered a position within their organization.

Bezina has been part of GSHC since 2004, when he returned to Switzerland after three seasons in North America. His fifteen years in Geneva have only been interrupted by a short stint in the KHL with Medveščak Zagreb in 2016-17.
