Goaltender Dennis Saikkonen joins HCC on a temporary basis

For now, Dennis Saikkonen will join the Swiss League team on a "week-to-week" basis, Arcinfo reports. The 26-year-old started training with the team today.

Saikkonen is a temporary replacement for Christophe Bays who recently underwent medical exams because he still suffers from knee pain. Saikkonen's situation will thus be reassessed at the end of this week.

Dennis Saikkonen mostly played in Switzerland for the past three seasons but did not get to see a lot of ice. Last season, he appeared in five games for IPK in the Finnish Metis league and in three games for EHC Biel.
